January, 2007

Dear RCT Friends:

The new year figures to be an exciting one for Riverbank Community
Theater
after a number of new developments to close out 2006.

Right away you will want to make plans to be involved in some way
with this year's first production, Neil Simon's The Odd Couple.
This comic classic is tentatively scheduled to be performed at the
end of March, but auditions will be held in January. Watch your e-
mails and RCTheater.org for information on how you can be involved!

An additional news flash is that this year we will expand to three
shows for the first time. This summer we are working on getting the
rights to perform Oklahoma! and we plan to follow that up with our
first Christmas show in three years, A Christmas Story.

Even though our season is set, our leadership team is not. We are
still very interested in adding people to our growing theater. There
are still a few committees without chairs, and there are still spots
open for people to serve as committee members. Please e-mail us at
volunteer@rctheater.org for information on how you can give your
input and guidance to the growth of our organization.

Speaking of growth, a huge step was taken by RCT this year. Most of
you know that we are incorporated, but in the past month we also
became certified with the IRS as a tax-exempt organization. That's
right, your friends, relatives, and employers can now donate to our
theater and receive a tax break! Make sure they know that, and if
you know of an organization or business who we should talk to about
support, let us know.

Finally, you may have noticed that there is no mention of
Shakespeare in the Park. For the first time this event is going to
go on as an entity separate from RCT. Joey Huestis and Stacy Blevins
have decided to produce this event on their own. Not having
Shakespeare on RCT's plate is what gives us the opportunity to focus
on Oklahoma!, the first musical we have done since The Sound of
Music
.

Hope to see you all involved in some way!
