Live from the Oasis Ballroom in Manhattan —
It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

It is Christmas Eve 1946 and WRCT is broadcasting from the Oasis Ballroom in Manhattan.

After a revue of some top area talent, "WRCT Playhouse of the Air" will present It’s a Wonderful Life, brought to you by Dux Toilet Cakes and Bremel Hair Tonic.

Our show opens in the Bedford Falls living room of George and Mary Bailey where friends and family have gathered on Christmas Eve to pray for George who has disappeared after a troubling series of events. We quickly meet Joseph, the superintendent of angels, and Clarence Oddbody, an apprentice angel, who has yet to receive his wings.

As the prayers continue to rise Heavenward, Joseph shows Clarence details from George’s life — from the time he saved his little brother Harry, to the times he saved a family's home through his business, Bailey’s Building and Loan.

Clarence the second class angel takes it all in so that he can use the information later when he becomes George’s guardian angel.

Sit back, relax — close your eyes, perhaps — as you enjoy the radio play, It’s a Wonderful Life.
